Hello,
As you already know, I streamed your game last weekend. Though you are already aware, I always like to provide a written review as a courtesy for devs and other players whom might be interested. Overall, this game is janky and easily exploitable, though perhaps buried beneath the jank and exploits is an interesting concept that needs a few hundred more working hours to dig up.

Forcing an engine built explicitly for JRPGs to do something it was not designed to do is definitely going to be a difficult undertaking, and it goes to show with this game. The first, most obvious thing that stood out to me was the floaty, imprecise controls. Both jumping and walking felt like I was playing on the moon, with both feeling like the game was moving in slow motion. If there is any intention to make a Meganoble 3 (or any other side scroller platformer for that matter) I would really spend a lot of time making sure the controls are precise. Think of it this way: RM devs spend a lot of time perfecting weaknesses, attacks, skills, and damage values to get the game to feel right because it's something the player will be interacting with a lot. Well, in the case of a 2D platformer, the player will be interacting with movement a lot, so it's important to spend a lot of time perfecting the numbers to feel juuuuuust right.

My second biggest problem with this game is the lack of explanation of anything. There is no tutorial and you are left to your own devices to figure out what you can or cannot do. On the one hand, this will create difficulty, increase the length of the game, and better reinforce controls once the player figures the controls out. However, only 1 out of those 3 things is really a positive here. Difficulty and game length are only artificially created, which doesn't give a satisfying experience, only frustration because it feels like the game wants you to fail.

On the worlds themselves: Though I am aware it is a trope of the games this game attempt to emulate, that doesn't change the fact that being able to select any world from the start and just dive in is pretty cool. I've always enjoyed a game that allows the player to play it however the player wants to play it, so I am glad an attempt was made here to do so. In the worlds themselves, however, there really isn't much of a gimmick to each of the levels. They each feel the same just with a different coat of paint. Enemies do have different skills which help add some small nuance differences to the level, but it would have been nice to have puzzle and platform gimmicks in addition to the enemy skills to set each stage apart from one another. (Also the little fire hazards that are spammed every where are just annoying.)

Well, this review is longer than my typical reviews so I am going to cut it here. Obligatory copy-pasta below:

Better mechanics, but felt it to be not as challenging as the previous one. But overvall Mega man 2 is most people favorite with in the series, as this game could be to others as well. Love the sound tracks this game has.

Very cool little game. Crushed it live on stream! Could be expanded upon big time imho. Waiting for meganoble 3 :P

I'd like to see you try >:)!

Try waiting for meganoble 3?

oh, I read that wrong. Just ignore me LOL.

Oh my, watching the trailer video made me miss  MegamanX5 so much.  How nostalgic !

Thank you! I was a big fan of Megaman and so that's why I created Meganoble :)!
